CameronFamilyFarms

Established in 1994, the Cameron Family Farm is located in the ‘Painted Hills’ of Bosque County. The location is perfectly situated to fill the growing demand for grass finished beef. Whether you are a beef lover interested in exploring the unique flavors of craft beef or a market or restaurant wanting to offer the best in the farm to table experience, we can satisfy the most discerning palate.

Dorper Sheep breeds were developed in the 1930s and ‘40s, and were officially recognized in South Africa in 1946. The fast-growing, well-muscled Dorpers are a cross between Horned Dorset rams and Blackhead Persian ewes. Dorper Sheep are typically docile and require minimal labor to manage.

Being rich in high quality protein and many vitamins and minerals, our lamb can be a nutritious component to a healthy diet. As with our beef, our lamb is processed at a USDA certified processor. Our lamb burgers are delicious as well as our lamb shanks and shoulders smothered in delicious gravy.

Our operation in the Hill Country of Texas specializes in providing grass-finished, farm fresh beef and lamb to consumers that value craft meats and appreciate the locally sourced, farm to fork experience. At Cameron Family Farm, our guiding light is being good stewards; stewardship of the land and stewardship of the stock.
As is stated in Psalms 24:1, “The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the Lord.” Our approach to stewardship is to know our business. We’re not in the livestock business, we are in the grass business. We use cattle to harvest the grass. And the cows we use? The Heritage Breed of Texas: the low impact, highly efficient Corriente.

We produce a cow herd which weans healthy calves, has suffered no stress or ill health, has required a minimum of care and expense, and has foraged widely on diverse vegetation. Our management practices are consistent with AWA guidelines, certified by the American Grassfed Association, and approved by the USDA as an All-Natural producer.
