Clay’s Guide Service

Clay Stacks provides hands-on experience as an angler and striper fishing guide on Lake Whitney. He operates out of Bosque County and has been coming to the Lake for more than 25 years. He grew up fishing the lake with his father, and continued to drive to Lake Whitney even when living in Stephenville after.

He knows the striper of Lake Whitney like the back of his hand, and has taken many of the Waco and Metroplex area along to show the fishiest waters. Clay has a 2020 boat that seats up to six well. He rises early each morning to catch his own  live bait for trips before dawn.

Half day trips are typically four to five hours. Clay will clean and bag your catch, up to five per person based on Texas Parks and Wildlife limits. He supplies all bait, tackle, boat, fuel, safety gear and bottled water. The experience is a treat for young and old alike. In the colder months, Clay switches from Striper to Blue Catfish, another specialty.

Clay has served as a guide for many locals, but some have even traveled as far as Japan and Germany to get the man’s expertise. He’s fished with many youth on their first trips, always ensuring a good haul. Stripers love the fresh bait caught every day, and some of his guests’ catches have nearly broken lake records.

He tracks the flow of Stripers across the lake, so he always has up to date information about where the schools are headed.

For more information, call Clay at 254-485-1271 or visit claysguideservice.org to book your appointment and get fishing.
