MINUTES OF MEETING – April 25, 2023
Call to Order and Opening Remarks. The Meeting of Greater Valley Mills Chamber of Commerce, Inc. was held at the Old City Hall at 101 N. 4th Street, Valley Mills, TX 76689, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on April 25, 2023. Bryant called the meeting to order, and following the prayer welcomed everyone in attendance and thanked them for coming.
Attendance: Kristy Hollingsworth, Bryant Schuetz, Terry Curlee, Cynthia Philipp.
Minutes and Financial Report March 28, 2023 were approved. Financial Report attached below.
New/Old Business:
Recognition of new members who have joined since last meeting: Nextlink
Membership Renewals for May: Valley Mills Feed and Hardware, BeBe’s Back Porch,
Valley Mills Progress, Jurgensen Pump, Larry and Cynthia Philipp, Anthony and Stephanie Bell,
MLS. Valley Mills Library Association, Moshiem Baptist Church.
Renewals past due: Steven Franklin A/C Heating, Old Field’s Eatery, JDH Design’s.
Past due renewals will be contacted and encourage to renew.
Farmers Market (May 13, 2023) – It will be at the Sante Fe Park from 9:00-12:00. The first winner, of the Fireworks Fundraiser, receipt drawing will be announced at this time; Shop at our local businesses in town.
Fireworks Fund – Bryant reported the goal is $20,000.00. The current balance $7,166.00.
May 16, 2023 – Pancake Supper 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Valley Mills Elementary. Pancakes, Sausage,
Hashbrowns, Orange Juice and Milk. Tickets; Adults $10.00 – Children under age of 15 eat free.
June 2, 2023 – Golf Tournament / Bosque Valley Golf Course.
June 10, 2023 – Homemade Ice Cream Sale at the Farmers Market.
Easter Egg Hunt – It was a success. The Chamber would like to thank everyone for the donations of eggs and candy. Thank you to Josh Jones and the Valley Mills High School Interact students for helping hide the eggs.
Ace Hardware – (May 13, 2023) Mother’s Day Event that will be held all day. Kids can make a flower pot arrangement for Mom. Everything will be provided for the event. Come out and bring
the kids, and shopping.
