Meridian ISD board members met Monday, December 12 in regular session to discuss reducing the cost of student meals and hiring a Superintendent search firm among other items.

Meridian Elementary School students arrived to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by an empty public comments period.

Business conducted included the call for May 6th elections, the sale of a vehicle, the approval of MISD District Improvement Plan, an interlocal agreement for commodities to reduce the price of school meals, and grant the superintendent authority to accept resignations, and the sale of a foreclosed property to bring tax money back into the school.

The board went into closed session, which was not listed on the agenda to discuss intruder detection audit and personnel matters.

After reconvening from closed session, the board did not elaborate on the intruder detection audit, and said the matter was “discussed” before moving onto the next agenda item.

The next item on the agenda was “hire Superintendent search firm.” A motion was made to hire “Arrow Search,” seconded, and passed without any discussion of the matter.

The Bosque Express has reached out to Meridian ISD Superintendent Kim Edward’s office for comment, a message was left, and there has been no contact from their office at this time.

This is a developing story, grab a copy of the Bosque County Express Friday, December 16th for the full story. Check www.bosquecountyexpress.com for a list of print edition drop off locations.
