Elvis arrived in Walnut Springs the evening of August 11 to a packed venue, held at Rattlesnake Ballroom in Walnut Springs.

Rattlesnake Ballroom’s debut of their newly finished upstairs bar and lounge proved to be  perfectly timed with a packed house of Elvis fans.

Elvis Impersonator Kraig Parker wooed the fans, especially the ladies, with his electric moves that more than resembled the King himself. Not only does Parker physically resemble Elvis, but his voice is also hauntingly alike. Unlike other Elvis impersonators, Parker sings the songs with the help of his 10-piece band “Royal Tribute Band,” rather than lip-sync.

Parker is an award-winning Elvis Entertainer that has travelled across the world. From Las Vegas, to Georgia, and as far as the U.K., France, Belgium, Finland, Denmark and Canada. He’s made appearances on Fox-4 Dallas, casinos, theaters and top-rated venues across the world.

“It was amazing to have someone as talented as Parker not only in small town Walnut Springs, but help raise money and awareness for Bosque Animal Rescue Kennel “BARK,” Laura Bush said.

Bush is the owner of the Rattlesnake Ballroom venue and currently holds the President position on the Board of Trustees for BARK. Bush opened her venue and donated 100% of the proceeds made from the Hound Dog Evening to BARK.

“There are so many animals in need across the world, and if we can save even one animal, all the hard work from the board members, staff and volunteers are worth it,” Bush said.

With BARK being a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, it does not receive any public funding. The nonprofit relies solely on private donations and fundraising.

Money raised or donated is used to provide a temporary haven, shelter and medical care for lost, abandoned, mistreated or abused animals within Bosque County.

If you missed the event and wish to donate to BARK, visit www.barkrescue.org. The organization is always in need of volunteers and those willing to foster animals. For more information on fostering give them a call at 254-675-1954 or email at [email protected]. If you’d rather talk in person or adopt an animal, the rescue is located at 4340 State Highway 6 in Clifton.
