The “Not So Jazz Band-Jazz Band” is made up of mainly 8th grade and a few 9th grade students and is making a big statement.
This young group plays music like Smooth by Carlos Santa and hits from Chicago. They recently performed (Dec 3) at Waco Wonderland on the main stage following the traditional parade. They also played at the Meridian City Hall/Chamber of Commerce’s open house on Thursday, December 8 at 11am.
New Band Director Daniel Yguerabide has brought the community into his mission to rebuild the band program from the ground up. The community rallied to provide the band with everything Yguerabide asked to ensure the band had what they needed to compete.
If you haven’t been following Meridian’s Band of Gold lately you should. They have made tremendous strides this year at multiple band competitions which has included record breaking scores.
